Welcome to the Good Life Chronicles, where living a good life takes center stage.
We all want to be happy. But if you’ve ever tried to “just be happier,” you know how impossible it feels. Happiness isn’t something you force — it’s something you practice.
Think of it like physical fitness. You don’t get strong from wishing you were strong. You get strong by showing up, lifting the weights, running the miles, or taking the classes. Mental fitness works the same way. If we want to feel happier, we need to practice the habits that create it.
As I mentioned some weeks ago, that’s what the Dubai 30x30 Happiness Challenge is all about: 30 days of simple, practical, science-backed activities to train your brain for greater happiness. (If you want to follow the physical challenge, check the official Dubai 30x30 Fitness Challenge here).
Why It Matters
Too many of us drift through life in a low-grade fog. We aren’t unhappy exactly, but we aren’t thriving either. This is the danger of languishing — it tricks us into thinking “OK” is enough, when in reality, we’re missing out on the richness of life.
Research shows happier people don’t just feel better — they do better. They live longer, get sick less often, and recover more quickly. They have stronger friendships and marriages, perform better at work, and even make better financial decisions. The evidence is clear: happiness is one of the smartest investments you can make in yourself.

How It Works
The Challenge runs from November 1–30, alongside the Dubai 30x30 Fitness Challenge. Each day you’ll practice one habit — from optimism to kindness to mindfulness — and reflect on it in your Playbook. These small actions, done consistently, build the mental muscles that protect you against stress and open the door to joy and meaning.
